Intimate Winemaker's Dinner with Tantalus Vineyards

Tantalus was established in 2004 when Proprietor Eric Savics was presented with the opportunity to acquire one of the Okanagan Valley’s premier vineyard properties. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first planted to table grapes in 1927 by renowned, local horticulturist JW Hughes.Eric, along with his team, realized the site's potential by focusing on a small, terroir-driven line of wines made from Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With the success of the wines and the increase in production, came the need to build a new winery. Tantalus’ sleek new facility was completed in March 2010 and has the distinction of being British Columbia’s first LEED-certified winery.

Winemaker David Paterson is a Kiwi with a Canadian connection, having been born in Vancouver but raised in New Zealand. He received his winemaking degree from Lincoln University in Christchurch, NZ and following time spent working in the local NZ industry (Neudorf Vineyards) he travelled the wine world gaining experience at premium wineries.Following this invaluable experience, David landed at Tantalus in 2009 to jump into the role of winemaker. After several successful vintages under his belt, he also took on the role of GM in 2016.

Join Winemaker David Paterson, our Director of Food & Beverage, Ike Seaman, and Chef Carmen Ingham as they collaborate for an evening of gastronomic delights at a shared longtable dinner. The evening will begin at 5:30pm, with a welcome and social in the Shoreline Terrace followed at 6:00pm by a five course chef's table dinner in Howard's Wine Cellar.
